Fawn ​Drive resident is a single-family house remodel project for a newly moved-in resident. The resident wanted to open up all gathering spaces- family room, kitchen, dining room, and living room- to bring family members together. We proposed demolishing the existing walls that divided up the spaces not only to fulfill the resident's needs but to give a visual impact of making the space look larger by opening up. Through demolishing the existing walls, we were also able to place a kitchen island as a centerpiece of the kitchen. We also proposed adding tray ceilings at the living room and the dining room to give some division in the large open space by adding a simple clean detail. Tray ceilings were also added in the master bedroom to give visual variation on the height of the ceiling, allowing the space to look more spacious.
